As an anesthesiologist for lipedema surgeries —and as someone who has Stage III lipedema myself —I have experienced both sides of the situation.
The intensive care provided to lipedema patients in the operating room and on the ward, along with my own experience of being diagnosed, undergoing surgery, and receiving treatment, sparked in me a desire to support others with the condition and make their journey easier.
Taking a holistic view of the person is extremely important to me. A trusting conversation in an environment where people can speak openly and without prejudice is the first, crucial step.
My goal is to support patients with great empathy, drawing on my medical expertise and my own personal experiences with this condition, and to empower them to take control of their lives and feel confident.
So at PANTEA , I not only found the clinic where I had my own surgery, but also a place whose mission statement and high standards of quality I identify with— and where, as a lipedema consultant, I can share my professional and personal knowledge.

More Than Just a Job: Helping Others in Similar Situations Based on My Own Experiences
Every time I treat a patient with lipedema, I almost always hear the same story: years of suffering, countless doctor’s visits, prejudice, ignorance, and a lack of understanding from those closest to them. I’ve gone through these experiences myself . And I want to spare other patients from this by advising and supporting them at PANTEA and equipping them with knowledge and self-management skills.
After all, it is only by understanding one's own illness that one can ultimately take the right course of action.
It is a great pleasure for me to help my patients atPANTEA® by drawing on my personal experience with lipedema and my in-depth medical knowledge to provide the best possible care for them.
