Unfortunately, the ageing process does not stop at our hands. At some point, the appearance of the hands often no longer matches a fresh-looking (because treated) facial region. Many of our patients want to rejuvenate their hands or the back of their hands. This is possible thanks to the latest laser technologies.
As we age, we lose collagen, which leads to a loss of elasticity in the skin. In a youthful hand, collagen - the elastic fibers under the skin - allows the skin to stretch or contract depending on the movement of the hand and not remain in folds or wrinkles. The skin of the "young" hand is also so thick that it does not allow the tendons and/or blood vessels to show through. With increasing age, the skin becomes thinner and blood vessels and tendons become visible on the back of the hand. The hand appears old and wrinkled.

Who is a rejuvenation of the back of the hand suitable for?
The treatment is suitable for all skin types and ages.
What should I look out for before and after the treatment?
The skin should not be too tanned before treatment. The skin should not be exposed to prolonged direct UV radiation for 2-3 weeks before and after each treatment.
How many treatments are necessary?
The results vary for each individual. To achieve the desired result, two to three treatments at intervals of around 4-6 weeks are recommended in most cases. Once the treatment is complete, the desired result has been achieved and will last. Thereafter, refresher treatments are possible at any time as required at intervals of approx. 1-2 months.
How long does a rejuvenation of the back of the hand take and where does the treatment take place?
Depending on the region treated and the indication, a treatment usually takes around 20 - 40 minutes - depending on the skin surface texture and size to be treated. The treatment takes place on an outpatient basis in our practice rooms.
Is there any downtime? When will I be socially acceptable again?
The downtime is very short. On the day of treatment, swelling and reddening of the skin is visible. For longer treatments, this condition can last up to 2 days after the treatment. After the treatment, you can resume your daily activities.
Do I need anesthesia for the rejuvenation of the back of the hand?
No, the treatment is minimally invasive, painless and takes place without anesthesia. However, if necessary, an anesthetic cream can be applied 40 minutes before the treatment.
Is special aftercare required?
No, after treatment with Fotona TightSculpting™ no special long-term aftercare is required. A water vapor-permeable cream should be used for the first 7 days. Cooling with thermal water, for example, is also recommended immediately after the treatment. You should avoid sunbathing or going to the solarium for approx. 4 weeks and use sun protection with SPF 50+.
