Intimate surgery
at PANTEA® in Munich
The appearance of the female genital area can vary from person to person. Anatomical changes to the female genital organs due to childbirth or natural skin ageing, as well as excessively large or small labia, can lead to insecurity and great psychological distress in affected women. In addition, labia that are too large or too small can cause pain or interfere with sporting activities and sexual intercourse.
Aesthetic motivations, such as dissatisfaction with the shape or size of one's own genital area, are just as relevant as medical reasons.
At PANTEA®, we understand the personal concerns and individual wishes of our patients "from woman to woman" when it comes to this sensitive topic and would like to work with you on the path to greater self-satisfaction and physical well-being. To achieve this, we combine the interdisciplinary expertise of the doctors in our team, which consists of specialists in plastic aesthetic surgery and a gynecologist.
Proven procedures in intimate surgery make it possible to correct both the labia minora and/or labia majora, also known as labia minora, and the mons pubis. Labiaplasty is one of the most frequently performed operations.
As a combination option for intimate surgery, we offer our minimally invasive vaginal tightening without surgery with Fotona IntimaLase® is available. This minimally invasive outpatientprocedure can tighten your vaginal canal, narrowing your vagina after childbirth, treating incontinence and increasing sexual satisfaction.

What are the reasons for intimate surgery?
What is done during a labia reduction/correction?
Before surgical correction/reduction of the labia minora, the amount of skin and tissue to be removed is precisely measured and marked. The excess tissue is then removed with precise incisions to achieve the desired result.
What is done during a mons veneris correction?
A mons veneris correction is essentially based on the principle of liposuction. We generally use the gentle tumescent technique for liposuction in the genital area. This involves injecting a mixture of sterile fluid, an anesthetic, sodium carbonate and a small amount of cortisone into the fatty tissue. This liquid fills the fat cells so that they can then be suctioned out using fine cannulas. For an aesthetic appearance, a skin tightening procedure may also be advisable to remove excess skin after a mons veneris correction to achieve an optimal result. For this purpose, a small incision is made in the pubic hair area to tighten the lower abdomen and the mons veneris and create an aesthetically pleasing transition from the abdomen to the genital area.

Procedure for intimate surgery with PANTEA®
The medical treatment takes place in one appointment at our practice in Munich and comprises several steps: from the consultation to the completed outpatient operation.
1.
The first step is a detailed consultation. During this session, your individual needs are assessed and a customized treatment plan is drawn up. The doctors at PANTEA® take enough time for you and clarify all your questions. Photo documentation and a physical examination are also carried out.
2.
We take a holistic approach at PANTEA® and are therefore not only there for you before and during the operation, but are of course also at your side after the operation.
3.
The day before the operation, you should drink enough fluids and get enough sleep so that you are in good health and well rested for the outpatient operation.
4.
On the day of the operation, you may have a light breakfast and do not need to come to the practice fasting. We operate under local anesthesia and on an outpatient basis, so that you can be picked up directly after a short post-operative observation period. If you opt for a general anesthetic, the operation will take place in our inpatient clinic. In this case, you should arrive fasting, i.e. you should not eat anything for at least 6 hours before the operation and not drink anything for at least 2 hours before the operation.
5.
We recommend that you take 1 week off after a labia reduction/correction. Aftercare includes daily sitz baths as well as cooling and protection of the genital area; regular disinfection after using the toilet; aftercare with a wound ointment and gentle pile care products; wearing "normal" thick sanitary towels and tight underpants. After a mons veneris correction , we recommend wearing panty girdles for approx. 6 weeks. Sport is possible again approx. 3-4 weeks after the operation; you should refrain from horse riding, cycling and sexual intercourse approx. 6 weeks after the operation.
6.
Follow-up appointments are made in consultation with the surgeon depending on the healing process. In addition, follow-up appointments can of course be arranged at any time in the event of uncertainties or questions after the operation.

Questions about intimate surgery
Prior to treatment, you will have a detailed consultation with our specialists to discuss your expectations and draw up a medically realistic treatment plan. We focus on your personal motivation. We want to understand exactly what you find disturbing and what your expectations are. This is the only way we can give you detailed and honest advice. The satisfaction of our patients is our top priority.
Labia reduction/correction and/or mons veneris correction can be performed under local anesthesia (and, if necessary, twilight sleep) and on an outpatient basis in our practice. General anesthesia and an inpatient stay are also possible at the patient's request. If you wish to have a general anesthetic, the usual pre-operative preparations, such as a resting ECG and laboratory values, are required. The decision for a general anesthetic can be particularly useful for anxious patients.
Before surgical correction/reduction of the labia minora, the amount of skin and tissue to be removed is precisely measured and marked. The excess tissue is then removed with precise incisions to achieve the desired result.
A mons veneris correction is essentially based on the principle of liposuction. We generally use the gentle tumescent technique for liposuction in the genital area. For this purpose, a small incision is made in the pubic hair area to tighten the lower abdomen and the mons veneris and to create an aesthetically pleasing transition from the abdomen to the genital area.
Minor surgical procedures with barely visible scars can give you a new lease of life, allowing you to regain confidence in your own body and enjoy sport and your sexuality. The aesthetic appearance is improved and physical complaints are resolved. Nothing pinches or rubs anymore and you will experience less pain. The physical and psychological benefits lead to an increase in your quality of life.
The outpatient labia reduction/correction procedure usually takes about 1-2 hours. A mons veneris correction usually takes about 1 hour. These are standardized procedures, which means that the risk of complications is relatively low when performed by an experienced surgeon. After a short observation period in our practice, you may be picked up by your accompanying person after the visit by the attending specialist. If you opt for a general anesthetic with inpatient accommodation in our inpatient clinic, you may be collected by your accompanying person on the day after the operation after the visit by the attending specialist.
You will not feel any painduring the treatment due to the local anesthetic. After the treatment, once the local anaesthetic has worn off, there will be soreness with a feeling of tightness; the swelling will have subsided after approx. 6-8 weeks; over-the-counter painkillers can be used to reduce the pain - we will of course advise you on this.
The wound is checked by the attending specialist approx. 1 week after the operation. No sutures are required as absorbable suture material is used. Wound healing is usually complete approx. 6 weeks after the operation.
You are allowed to shower the day after the operation. Please do not use soap or special cleansing agents for the genital area. Cleaning the intimate area with clear tap water is sufficient. A sitz bath is also possible. Please protect and cool the genital area before and after.
For aftercare, we recommend a wound ointment and the use of gentle skin care products. Please wear "normal" thick sanitary towels and tight underpants to support the compression. In the case of a mons veneris correction, we also recommend wearing a panty girdle for approx. 6 weeks to provide compression.
Sport is possible again after approx. 3-4 weeks. You should refrain from riding, cycling and sexual intercourse for at least 6 weeks.
You will see the first results immediately after the operation. The most visible results are seen within 3 weeks of the operation. The final result is achieved approx. 3 months after the outpatient operation.
Labia reduction/correction and mons veneris correction offer a long-term, sustainable measure to improve your quality of life - without significant downtime.
Like any surgical procedure, genital correction carries certain risks, including infection, bleeding and allergic reactions to the (local) anesthetic. Unpredictable scarring, asymmetries or a loss of sensation can also occur. Our specialists in plastic aesthetic surgery have extensive experience in the field of intimate surgery and will be happy to advise you on potential risks prior to treatment in order to minimize the risk of complications.
If desired, intimate surgery at PANTEA® in Munich can be combined with other surgical and aesthetic medical treatments to optimize the rejuvenating effect.
A popular combination option is a minimally invasive vaginal tightening vaginal tightening without surgery with Fotona IntimaLase® to tighten the vaginal canal and narrow the vagina, which can treat incontinence as a result of childbirth and increase sexual satisfaction. Our specialists will be happy to advise you personally on which treatment combination is best for your desired result.
