Fotona LipLase™ lip correction without surgery procedure
The lips are treated both internally and externally using the SMOOTH mode of the Fotona Er:Yag laser. Through several customized passes, the tissue is heated and the production of the body's own elastin and collagen is stimulated, resulting in natural lip plumping.
When will the first results be visible?
The first treatment results are visible immediately after the treatment. It visibly improves the elasticity and structure of the skin. The effect of the treatment increases continuously over the following weeks, as the formation of collagen fibers in the skin is stimulated and the skin is "plumped up" as a result. The full effect is achieved after approx. 2-3 weeks.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
The treatment is suitable for all skin types and ages.
What should I look out for before and after a lip correction?
The skin should not be too tanned before treatment. The skin should not be exposed to prolonged direct UV radiation for 10 days before and after each treatment.
How many treatments are necessary?
A clear result is already visible after the first treatment. To achieve the desired result, two to three treatments at intervals of approx. 4-6 weeks are recommended in most cases. At the end of the treatment, the desired result is achieved and lasts. Thereafter, refresher treatments are possible at any time as required at intervals of approx. 1-2 months.
How long does a lip correction without surgery take and where does the treatment take place?
Depending on the region treated and the indication, a treatment usually takes about 20-40 minutes. The treatment takes place on an outpatient basis in our practice rooms.
Is there any downtime? When will I be socially acceptable again?
There is no downtime. In the first 5-7 days after the treatment, slight swelling and redness of the treated areas is visible and there is superficial peeling of the skin. Immediately after the treatment, you can resume your daily activities. The procedure is well tolerated by patients and there is usually no discomfort.
Do I need anesthesia for lip correction?
No, the treatment is minimally invasive, relatively painless and takes place without anesthesia. If necessary, an anesthetic cream can be applied before the treatment.
Is special aftercare required?
No, no special aftercare is required after a Fotona LipLase lip correction. It is only important that you provide the skin with sufficient moisture by using a moisturizing cream or lip balm. You should avoid sunbathing or going to the solarium for approx. 1 week and use sun protection with SPF 50+.
What is the difference between a Fotona LipLase lip correction and an injection of hyaluronic acid/filler?
Fotona LipLase™ is a non-invasive procedure that gives patients plumper, velvety lips using a laser as an alternative to injections. The treatment leads to more natural and softer results as the collagen in your lips is stimulated and revitalized.
Lip fillers work with a hyaluronic acid solution that is injected into your lips. The results are immediately visible as the lips look and feel much plumper and fuller. However, the filler is metabolized by the body. For this reason, the results only last up to four to six months and require repeat treatments. Many patients rave about the results of fillers, but find the regular repeat treatments time-consuming.
Fotona LipLase, on the other hand, takes a different approach. Instead of injecting a solution into the skin, the laser is used to stimulate and increase the body's natural collagen production. The results after the laser treatment are visible, but not as pronounced as the results after a lip filler treatment.
