The Breast Augmentation Procedure Using Motiva® Preservé™ atPANTEA® in Munich
Medical treatment comprises several steps: from diagnosis through to completion of treatment.

The first step is a detailed consultation “from woman to woman.” The doctors atPANTEA® take plenty of time for you and answer all your questions. In addition, they take photographs and perform a physical examination.

Together, we’ll determine what outcome is realistic and right for you, and select the appropriate implant size to achieve a natural, proportionate result. This will help us decide whether Preservé™ is suitable or if another method is a better fit for your individual needs and circumstances.
We clearly explain all the benefits, limitations, and potential risks of the method—honestly and in a way that’s easy to understand—so you can make an informed decision.

Based on the findings, we will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan and discuss all the issues that need to be addressed before, during, and after treatment.

The day before the procedure, you should drink plenty of fluids and get enough sleep so that you can undergo the minimally invasive procedure while well-rested. Since Preservé™ is performed without general anesthesia, the preparation is much simpler than for traditional breast surgery.

On the day of your breast augmentation surgery, you should arrive at the clinic about 30 minutes before the procedure. The procedure itself usually takes only about 30–60 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia, with light sedation if desired.
After a short rest at the clinic, you can go home the same day. We recommend that someone accompany you on your way home.

After surgery, our patients receive a “post-op kit.” It contains useful supplies, as well as instructions and tips on how to best care for themselves during the healing phase and afterward, along with high-quality dietary supplements to support the healing process.
Of course, we are always available to answer our patients' questions after the operation.

We recommend that you take about one week off work after the surgery. Part of your post-operative care involves wearing the recommended supportive special bra. After 1 to 2 weeks, you may resume light exercise.

Follow-up appointments are scheduled at specific times depending on the healing process—additional appointments can be made at any time if you have questions.

Blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin or similar) should be discontinued one week before the procedure.
If you smoke, please stop smoking a few weeks before your treatment—this will help the wound heal.

Preservé™ is suitable for adult women (age 18 or older, whose bodies have finished growing) who desire a noticeable, natural, tissue-preserving breast augmentation and would prefer to avoid traditional surgery involving general anesthesia and a prolonged recovery period.
This method is particularly suitable for women who have recently given birth, are breastfeeding, or have experienced weight fluctuations. During a personal consultation, we will determine whether this method is right for you.
The difference lies in the technique: With the traditional method, the implant pocket is created by cutting, usually under general anesthesia. With Preservé™, the tissue is gently stretched rather than cut; the procedure is performed without general anesthesia and on an outpatient basis. The result is similarly stable in terms of shape, but recovery is generally much shorter.
Breast augmentation with Preservé™ is an outpatient procedure—in other words, a minor surgery. The procedure is performed without general anesthesia and does not require an overnight hospital stay. It is a brief procedure performed through a small incision in the inframammary fold, under local anesthesia, and, if desired, with gentle twilight sedation. That is why we specifically refer to this as a tissue-sparing and quick outpatient breast augmentation without general anesthesia. In rare cases, however, general anesthesia may still be advisable for medical reasons; your doctor will make this decision on a case-by-case basis and discuss it with you in advance. The benefits for you remain the same: no major surgery, minimal scarring on the breast, and a very short recovery time.
We use high-quality, rigorously tested, latest-generation Motiva® implants (SmoothSilk® Ergonomix2®). They have been proven effective in millions of cases and are designed to provide a particularly natural look and feel. We will determine which implant is best suited for you during your consultation.
Even with the highest quality implants that we use, we recommend replacing the implants after around fifteen to twenty years.
You should have your breasts checked regularly after the procedure as part of your annual gynecological examination using an imaging procedure (such as ultrasound).
The risks of breast augmentation with implants depend on the type of procedure and the approach. Irrespective of this, temporary harmless tissue changes such as swelling or blue discoloration of the skin may occur in the surgical area. However, these quickly subside on their own.
Very rarely, infections and wound healing disorders can occur. These are easy to control with an antibiotic.
Breast augmentation with breast implants can involve special risks such as capsular fibrosis, rupture of the shell (a so-called "implant rupture" is extremely rare) and displacement or twisting of the implant (implant dislocation).
The causes of capsular fibrosis are still not clearly understood. It is suspected that it can be triggered by a chronic infection. Depending on the severity of the capsular fibrosis, pain may occur and a follow-up operation to remove the scarred capsule or even a change of implant may be necessary.
Yes, because the ability to breastfeed is generally not affected after breast augmentation with Preservé™, since the glandular tissue is preserved.
Since the procedure is particularly gentle on the tissue, discomfort is usually minimal.
Many women are able to resume social activities after just two to three days. Light exercise is usually possible again after about two weeks, and more strenuous activity after a few weeks.
There are no scars on the breast itself. The small incision is hidden in the inframammary fold, measures only about two to three centimeters, and becomes barely visible over time.
